In celebration of its new jewelry launch in collaboration with Cosmopolitan magazine, Laura Janelle gave away Cosmo Style totes and served cosmopolitan cocktails in the Ivystone showroom at the 2018 Dallas summer gift market. After enjoying the light refreshments, buyers had the opportunity to learn more about the new fashion accessories from sales representatives.
Hearst Magazines announced earlier this month a licensing agreement with Cousin Corporation of Largo, Fla., to develop a new jewelry line in collaboration with the editors of Cosmopolitan magazine. The brand is licensed as ‘Cosmo Style by Cosmopolitan.’ The debut Fall/Winter 2018 jewelry line launched in June, offering four distinct collections: American Prep, Boho Traveler Cali, VIP and Zen. Products include necklaces, bracelets, earrings and rings.
Of the partnership, Steve Ross, global chief licensing officer and head of brand development at Hearst Magazines, said, “Cosmopolitan is a champion of style in every form, and with this new jewelry collection, beautiful design is at the heart of every piece allowing ‘Cosmo Girls’ of all ages to express themselves through enduring fashion inspired by our editors.”“We could not be more excited about our new partnership with Cosmopolitan,” said Cousin Corporation President Denny King. “We are thrilled that the brand is committed to the success of this new jewelry line through close collaboration in the design phase and promotion across their print editorial, social media and digital channels. By tapping into Cosmopolitan and its millions of readers, we are confident that this partnership will build awareness and drive traffic to the online and independent boutique specialty market.”
Cousin Corporation, founded in 1970, has two divisions: CousinDIY, which specializes in jewelry components and Laura Janelle, a lifestyle brand that offers jewelry, fashion accessories, apparel, gifts and home. CosmoStyle by Cosmopolitan will be a new third division and will be targeted towards the boutique and department store distribution channels. Cousin’s current sales partner, The Ivystone Group, will be heading up U.S. distribution.
The new jewelry collection will be available online via CosmoStyle Jewelry, as well as in independent boutiques in the U.S. and Canada. The partnership was brokered by IMG, Cosmopolitan’s exclusive global licensing representative.
