Based on single pass drum dryer, Hengxing equipment also develop triple pass drum dryer to take drum drying technology a step further.3 pass rotary dryer improves the performance in operation cost, service life, energy efficiency, product consistency.
3 pass rotary dryer has proved its application in building materials, chemical, foundry, cement industry. It is used in the dehydration of dry mixed mortar, silica sand, foundry sand, iron powder, coal gangue, blast furnace slag, fine clay, etc. Final moisture content could be reduced to 0.5-1%. Optimal feeding particles should be below 30mm.
As three passes are concentric and interlocked, full-length drums maximize the effective length and residence time in a much smaller floor area compared with single pass dryer. Instead of gear driving or chain driving, triple pass drum dryer is driven by the rollers. Smooth transmission reduces abrasion and extends service life.
Advantages of 3 pass rotary dryer:
Higher thermal efficiency. External drum is also a layer of heat preservation. Single pass dryer has a greater surface area exposed to the atmosphere, lots of heat is wasted by radiation.
Heat transfer happens in the form of convection, conduction, radiation.
Shortened length, smaller floor area.
Compacted structure, manufactured as single unit, shipped in fully assembly.
Final moisture content could be as low as 0.5-1%. Suitable for cement plant, slag fines, mortar production line.
More consistent end products. Less under or over drying phenomenon.
Temperature inside external pass is only 60°C, temperature at the outlet is below 100°C. Low temperature does less damage to the bag house.
3 pass rotary dryer working process:
Materials enter the inner side of the drum through the feeding device to realize current flow drying process, then the materials enter the middle layer of the inner wall through the other end to realize counter current drying process. They are lifted in over and over in the middle layer which advance in two-steps forward and one-step back way. The three-drum dryers absorb heat from both inner drum and middle drum, which extend the drying time and realize the best drying condition. Finally, materials fall into the external layer of the drum from the other end of the middle layer, processing in a rectangle multi-loop way. The dried materials move quickly out of the drum under the hot air, while the wet ones remain because of their own weight. Materials are dried completely inside the rectangle shoveling plate and then cooled by the single drum cooler, thus finishing the whole drying process.
