Scouring and supply chain management

-- Main Chipsets: CPU, DDR, Flash, only purchase from official distributors of the brand, to avoid refurbished and second hand units.
-- Other Components: Dual Suppliers Policy and 3rd Party Authentication Center for Genuine Testing and Quality Check.

In-coming Materials are controlled
1. Non- official channels normally will have cheaper pricing, but the quality and the consistency are not guaranteed.
2. 3rd Party Authentication Center will help us to distinguish the unstable parts, if one batch of problem materials are found, we will disqualify the supplier.
PCBA
-- QC engineers are professional SMT engineers, we program the SMT line by ourselves and use our own processes to test PCBA.
Starting from PCB in-coming check, to solder pasting, to reverse heating, all using our own standard.
One-time pass rate is 97% for mature PCBA ( Apple is 98.5%)
Overall pass rate is 99% in 2013.

Aging Test
-- New Products or New Components Replacement will involve aging testing for 2000 pcs for 24 hours. The pass rate should be higher than 99.5%, otherwise, hardware design optimization or components replacement will follow.
