Product Description

2 inch 4 inch 6 inch sapphire wafer c plane

Sapphire optical windows are ideal for applications where high pressure, vacuum, or corrosive atmospheres are a consideration. Sapphire, a single crystal form of Al2O3, is resistant to attack by strong acids due to its high dielectric constant. It has high compressive strength and a high melting point. It is also resistant to UV radiation darkening. Our sapphire optical windows are not coated, but a single layer coating of MgF2 on each surface of the window increases the single surface transmittance to 99% throughout the entire visible spectral region. Please note the SAW series sapphire windows are provided in random axis orientation by default and its birefringent nature could affect the polarization state of your application.

Customizing is available.By using sapphire cutting and machining facilities, sapphire wafers in different orientations, thicknesses and machining accuracies are available. At present, the products mainly are 2″,4″and 6″ sapphire wafers.

Production Process

Raw Material(Ingredient)

The ingredients are the first step in the production process, the specific process includes: burning materials, ingredients, loading, binder, sintering.
Crystal Growth
Our company achieves mass production of yag crystal and sapphire crystal by latest crystal growing furnance.

Testing of Single Crystal Material

After crystal growth,we will test each single crystal,testing after passing will be next step
Crystal Roughing
Each crystal materila will need to be cut into the crystal, material selection, processing molding.
Crystal Finishing
Divided into: grinding and polishing. Grinding: Before polishing, grinding needs to stick into a crystal rods, grinding on the grinding disc. Polishing: After grinding, the crystals mounted on the end face polishing machine for polishing. Each base processing usually takes 6 hours.
Product Testing
For the finished product, Finished product testing:We need to check the following index: surface finish, flatness, parallelism. perpendicularity.
Coating
Coating is coated with layers ranging from film in the end face of the crystal to achieve transmition and reflection. (Coating or not according to the actual situation)
Finished product storage

The finished product will be packed in a warehouse and send you by express as soon as possible.
