Product Description

Shock wave therapy equipment

ESWT shockwave medical physical therapy equipment

BS-SWT5000

BS-SWT5000 is a professional Radial Shockwave Therapy (RSWT) system, which is a method for the treatment of superficial orthopedic disorders developed over the past 20 years especially for pain associated with the musculoskeletal. A shockwave is defined as a wave with a rapid increase of pressure within a very short time and then having a gradual decrease of pressure with a small negative pressure phase. Shockwaves are aimed at the affected areas that are the source of chronic pain. The influence of the shockwaves causes to the dissolution of calcium deposits and leads to better vascularization. The after-effect is relief from the pain.physical therapy equipment , pain relief ,shock wave therapy equipment,smart-wave,medical equipment

The BS-SWT5000 SWT system uses the ballistic principle of shockwave generation: A pressure wave is formed via a bullet by using accelerated compressed air. The compressed air is generated by an electronically-controlled ballistic-pressure compressor. Using elastic impact, the kinetic energy of the bullet is transferred into the probe of the applicator and then into the client's body. Consequently, during the treatment, the end of the applicator must be in direct -contact with the skin and subcutaneous tissue.

What is Shock wave Therapy?
Shockwave therapy is a modern and highly effective treatment option in orthopaedic and rehabilitation medicine. The term shockwave refers to mechanical pressure pulses that expand as a wave in the body. In modern pain therapy, shockwave energy is conducted from the point of origin to the painful body regions, where it applies its healing capacities.
The easiest way to think of the energy created by a Shockwave machine is to imagine a Jacuzzi, as the bubbles are generated outside of the body, the energy of the jets is focused on a certain area and the effect can be felt below the surface of your skin. The stronger the jet, the deeper the effect. Similarly, the more focused the jet, the more targeted the impact.

In orthopedics, extracorporeal shockwave therapy (ESWT) is a form of shockwave therapy designed to repair and regenerate damaged tissue. For over a decade physicians have been using shockwave therapy for Achilles pain, plantar fasciitis of the heel, lateral epicondylitis, tendinitis of the shoulder, patellar tendinopathy, necrosis of the femoral head, and ischemic heart disease. The success rate for healing ranges from between 65 to 91 percent of patients, and complications are minimal.

How is shockwave therapy applied to the area?
Shockwave therapy for Achilles tendinopathy is applied following a set protocol. The clinician will carry out a thorough case history taking which isolates the area that is painful and begins to understand the clinical history behind the condition. It is important to make sure that the condition being treated is actually an Achilles tendinopathy and, as such, is treatable with shockwave therapy.
Largely the study of exactly what happens during shockwave therapy is the topic of many research projects. Some proposed mechanisms so far that has good evidence include;

  • Direct stimulation of healing (increased TGF-b1, IGF-1, increased GAG’s)
  • Neo-vascularisation
  • Direct suppression effects on nociceptors
  • Hyper-stimulation (blocking the gait control mechanism)
  • Increased NO expression
  • Increase PCNA (proliferating cell nuclear antigen), collagen type 1 and collagen type 3
  • During the examination period a tender point where the pain is maximal will be located, upon which a water-based medium will be applied. This aids the transmission of the impulses into the desired area.
  • The probe will then be placed over the desired area and then treatment for your Achilles tendinopathy will begin. At first the clinician will ensure the discomfort is kept to a minimum. After a while, as the impulses increase, little pain is experienced.

However, more often than not, there is some pain felt over the area of application. After treatment you should feel very little pain and this may last for a few days. After then an aching sensation can occur. After subsequent treatments there will be a definite improvement in symptoms leading to reduction in the original pain felt.

What Is EDSWT?
Erectile Dysfunction Shock Wave Therapy (EDSWT) is an innovative approach to vasculogenic ED, delivered by Smart-wave BS-SWT5000, a device that uses advanced acoustics technology. This technology has proven to be effective in cardiology, with recent success in reversible ischemic tissues of the heart. EDSWT utilizes low-intensity extracorporeal shock waves, focusing on blood vessels and encouraging neovascularization in the penis shaft and crus. The low-intensity shock waves help relieve vascular deficiency, a common cause of erectile dysfunction.

EDSWT: New Effectivness For More Patients
Vasculogenic and diabetic ED patients will benefit from EDSWT – those who are responsive to PDE5 inhibitors as well as those who are unresponsive. For the latter, which includes a substantial number of severe ED patients, the only solution to date are vacuum pumps, injections and perhaps implants. EDSWT therapy brings hope to those patients, by allowing more than 70% of them to become responsive to PDE5 inhibitors. As “end-stage” ED patients, they will be able to enjoy normal sexual functionality. With over 50% of men aged 40-70 suffering from ED, and even more from transient ED, Medispec’s breakthrough therapeutic system can bring lasting improvement in erectile function and new sexual spontaneity to millions – painlessly, naturally and safety.

Shockwave Q&A
  • How effective is ESWT?
The results were an amazing average reduction in pain of 92% with only one treatment. (This data reflects the results of all patients treated in the study one year after receiving one treatment with the Dornier EPOS ESWT machine).
  • What signs indicate this therapy is needed?
Shock wave therapy may treat conditions such as degenerated tendons (Achilles tendonitis), heel pain (plantar fasciitis) and tennis elbow (lateral epicondylitis).
  • When should I Consider ESWT?
If you have had your condition for more than six months and have tried three conservative therapies with no results, do not wait any longer to seek help. It is natural to procrastinate, but not a good idea for tendonitis conditions, since continuously using degenerative tendon tissue can cause further damage.
  • When should I avoid this therapy?
Complications are infrequent with shock wave therapy. People who have poor sensation (neuropathy) or hypersensitivity in the target area should not have this procedure. Open sores should also be avoided. Shock wave therapy is not used in patients with heart conditions or seizures. It should not be used during pregnancy. This should be discussed with your physician before undergoing the procedure.
  • Am I a candidate for Shockwave Therapy?
The following criteria must all be meet before treatment may begin: 1. You have been diagnosed with a condition that Shockwave Therapy has been demonstrated effective in treating. (Either from our doctor, your family doctor, or surgeon). 2. There are no significant or serious side effects or contraindications. 3. Surgery is the only other viable alternative.  4. Conservative treatments have failed or did not work.  5. You understand the procedure, costs and other factors involved in your program of treatment.
  • Does Shockwave Therapy Hurt?
Previous generations of Shockwave Therapy machines caused considerable pain that a local anesthetic was required. The shockwave technology Back In Motion utilizes does not generally cause any significant discomfort and there is NO local anesthetic required. Many patients describe their treatment as "mild sensation" to "moderately uncomfortable" but few report any significant or lasting pain.
