ORP-8083 Industrial Composite Glass ORP Sensor
Factory technology reference
1. Zero mV value 86±15mV(25C)
2. Grade difference ≥165mV(25C)
3. Operation and maintenance
Equipment and solution required for testing pH/mV meter
buffer 4.01 solution( include saturated quinhydrone)
buffer7.00 solution( include saturated quinhydrone)
Preparation
There is a soaking bottle filled with ORP electrode soaking solution attached to the head of
SO100/ ORP combination electrode. Before using, remove it and soak electrode into distilled
water and rinse, then take out and make dry. Now the electrode is ready. (Be ware: must not rub
sensing element forcibly).
test electrode
Connect ORP electrode to input end of pH/mV meter and make sure the connection is correct.
Set pH/mV at testing gear
Set electrode in buffer solution of pH7.00 with saturated quinhydrone. After stirring, mV reading
E1 should be 86±15mV.
Rinse electrode with distilled water, then set it in buffer solution of pH4.01 with saturated
quinhydrone. After stabilizing, record mV meter reading E2. The difference between E1 and E2
should be 165mV.
Storage and maintenance
Rinse the electrode with distilled water during the interval of using.
Keep ORP electrode wet. If not in use for long period of time, it should be rinsed and stored in the
provided soaking bottle filled with soaking solution.
If it is refillable ORP electrode, cover filling hole with stopper in case leak of solution.
How to clean ORP electrode
If sensing element got contaminated, it will result in slow respond time and inaccurate reading.
Clean it as following
If contamination is mineral matter, set sensing element in HCL solution 0.1N for 10 minutes and
then rinse it with distilled water.
If the contamination is oil and grease coating, clean sensing element with detergent and rinse with
distilled water.
After above treatments, set electrode in saturated buffer pH4.01 for 15minutes and then rinse with
distilled water.
Note: after cleaning, at least soak electrode in solution for 8 hours and then it can be used again.
