We understand thermal insulation theory of expanded perlite under vacuum condition. By many experiments and researches, we produce expanded perlite for cryogenic liquid vacuum tank. Selection of Cryogenic Expanded Perlite
As we all know, temperature is transfered in three ways: conduction, convection and radiation. When expanded perlite is filled into heating insulation layer of cold boxes and tanks, there is full of materials in microporous structure in the gap of cryogenic equipment and outside protection layer. Because of the viscouseffect of air, convection transfer can be ignored. Meanwhile, expanded perlite is dispersion medium, radiation effects thermal transfer is rarely by scattering and absorption. So the main way of thermal transmission is conduction.
When it’s 77K, the thermal transfer of perlite is about 0.022~0.025, so expanded perlite is widely used as one of the best cryogenic thermal insulation materials.
Density, size distribution, and moisture content of expanded perlite are important factors which influence its thermal insulation performance. The way of expanding and filling automatically on-site refers to transport portable expanding and producing equipment and raw perlite ore material to construction site and expand on project site and fill expanded perlite into thermal insulation layer of cryogenic equipment by pneumatic transmission pipe.
We have many facilities for on-site expanding and automatic filling, which finish on-site producing and direct filling through pneumatic transmission pipe. It avoids the contact of expanded perlite and moist air, effectively decreases the breaking rate of perlite particles caused by manual filling in the process of packaging, storage and transportation. At the same time, it decreases dust pollution and increases construction safety because we give up manual outdoor aerial work.
