Biodegradable Coir Mat for Erosion Control Grass Protection Geomat

Biodegradable Coir Mat for Erosion Control Grass Protection Geomat is manufactured with a layer of coir, straw or with a mixture of these natural fibers. The coir mat is stitched with 100 % organic netting and with jute or cotton thread. Alternatively the blanket can be stitched with polypropylene netting and thread.

The coir netting mat is used to prevent erosion and to establish vegetation, applicable for steeper slopes stabilization, riverbanks stabilization and highway constructions. Demand of coir stitched blanket and its’ application is being increased immensely due to its environmental friendly, strong, durable and long-lasting features.

Depending on its application and exposure, coir mat lasts 3 to 5 years. This extended lifespan allows enough time to establish adequate vegetation for erosion control.

Composite coir geotextile of an approx. 600 g/m2 coir blanket stitched on the upper side to a brown PP net and on the lower side to a black woven Polypropylene geotextile.
The stitching is with a PP thread.
